Our panelists will review 3 intellectual property cases on which the US Supreme Court heard oral arguments and ruled. The first case involves an unfair use by the Andy Warhol foundation of copyrighted photographs taken by Lynn Goldsmith. The second case shows why the Court did not laugh at a pet products company's claim that they made a humorous use of Jack Daniel's logo and trademark for their Tennessee Whiskey, and otherwise diluted its good name. The third case saw Amgen lose two patents on their formulations for antibodies that lower bad cholesterol in a person's bloodstream.
