The Voices of Democracy Law Day theme encourages Americans to participate in the 2024 elections by deepening their understanding of the electoral process; discussing issues in honest and civil ways; turning out to vote; and, finally, helping to move the country forward after free and fair elections. In this way, Americans ensure that our government remains responsive to the wishes of the people. Don’t miss this presentation that explores a number of important judicial issues, including:
  • The role of the Independent Judiciary in protecting the voices of our democracy;
  • The importance of courts operating without interference from outside the courtroom;
  • How and why judiciary independence promotes faith, trust, and confidence in the judicial decisions;
  • The imperative need for judges to set aside personal interests and promote the public trust;
  • The attorney’s role in judicial independence; and
  • Why attorneys volunteering to serve on court commissions and committees is so important.
