Blockchain: a type of encrypted electronic transaction ledger in which new information can be added, but previous information (which are stored in blocks) cannot be edited or deleted

By now, most professionals have heard of blockchain, but many still have questions about what makes this technology unique and how it will affect the business landscape. This presentation answers these questions by providing an in-depth look at the key technical concepts behind blockchain. Business lawyers, corporate attorneys, agricultural law practitioners, and civil litigators who attend this online seminar will better understand:
  • How to distinguish between Bitcoin and enterprise grade blockchains;
  • The critical legal, accounting, and cybersecurity issues that have arisen in the developing blockchain market; and
  • The notable cases that have emerged the blockchain arena, including smart contracts, tracking the food supply chain, and self-sovereign identity.
