Speaker Questions
You may submit questions to speakers during live programs or via the "Submit a Question" button for archived programs. If you don't get a response within 48 hours, please contact the ISBA at or call 800-252-8908 or 217-525-1760 during business hours.

Technical Requirements and Best Practices
To be sure your system meets the technical requirements, please conduct a system check as follows:

A. Web Events Via Zoom Meeting Room - Best Practices (When joining with a laptop or a computer)
I. Pre-Program Technology Tips:
  • Please install the more reliable and secure Zoom app on the device you will be using for the program and test your system at least one week prior to the program. (Zoom is not fully functional when joining from a web browser. For example, this presentation may use the breakout room feature for small group discussion. This feature is not functional in some browsers.) If you must join from a browser, the Safari browser is the least functional and Chrome the best.
  • Visit for detailed instructions for installing the app.
  • Test your system audio and video via zoom
  • If you already have the zoom app, make sure to update the app to the latest version.
  • Join the program with computer audio rather than by phone dial in.
  • Join via the zoom app on a laptop, a computer rather than your tablet or phone.
II. Program Day Technology Tips
This program may be recorded for ISBA's on-demand CLE catalog, so be aware that your name, image or any verbal participation may be on the recording.
  • Close any other applications or web browsers on your device.
  • Select your preferred screen display option – gallery view for all participants or speaker view for just the current speaker.
  • Select your preferred participation options:
    • You may opt to change your name setting in your zoom video display box or in the participants list to “anonymous” or “participant” by clicking on the three dots and selecting “Rename.”
    • If you don't wish to be visible on video, select "stop video" in the lower left of your screen. Note, there may be times when the host will turn off your video display for production purposes.
    • Please mute your sound by selecting the “microphone” icon in the lower left of your screen when you are not speaking to avoid potentially distracting background noise. Note, there may be times when the host will turn off your audio for production purposes
B. Webcasts (Via Internet - Streaming video and audio) ISBA has upgraded to a higher quality video stream, if you experience buffering issues or the video freezes, you may need to adjust your browser's streaming quality (bit-rate). Please call technical support for assistance. We recommend Chrome or Firefox as you Internet browser

  • Live Onsite Programs - A full refund is available up to 24 hours prior to most live onsite programs, less a $25 administrative fee, if you notify the ISBA via email at Some exclusions may apply.
